Dinner for Two - Mike Gayle

This is from writer who wrote the book My Legendary Girlfriend, Mr Committment and Turning Thirty.

Dave Harding has got it all - a nice flat, a cushy job as a music journalist, his perfect partner, Izzy. Then, the magazine he works for folds. He took up a job as "agony uncle" for Teen Scene" magazine and a letter from a 13 year old Nicola O'Connell arrived, wanting to know all about Dave. Because she is convinced Dave Harding is her dad, and she got the facts to prove it.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

This is a rather touching story.

The story is about a girl called Susie Salmon who was murdered when she was fourteen in the year 1973. It is narrated from her point of view, speaking from heaven, watching what happen to her family after she dies. How her family was devastated, broken down, trying to cope to what happen to her. Over the years, her friends and siblings grow up, fall in love, do all the things she never had a chance to do herself. But life is not quite finished with Susie yet....

Moving and compelling.

Nip 'n' Tuck

There is no better words to sum it up, so I am just gonna copy its summary.

Lizzie's life seems pretty damn perfect, until she realizes she's about to hit the dreaded 4-0.But losing her job to a younger journalist is not the only ingrown pube in the bikini wax of Lizzie's life. Her surgeon husband, Hugo, unexpectedly falls for sabre-toothed trouser-hound Britney Amore, an actress who keeps fit by doing step-aerobics off her own ego.Even worse, Britney persuades the hitherto idealistic Hugo to operate in her new cosmetic surgery clinic.

Lizzie has always believed brains to be more important than beauty, but up against a sex goddess, principles and profundity are about as useful as a eunuch at a whipped-cream orgy.Must she go under the knife herself to win back the man she loves? The answer is as obvious as a pre-1990 nose job.

One of my fav funniest quote from the book - "End World Hunger - Eat An Actress".

Man and boy - Tony Parsons

Going Home - Harriet Evans

Another chick flick.

Keeper House is Lizzy's family country home, a place where she returns to escape from hustle and bustle of her London's life. But trouble is on the horizon.

Her entire family is hiding a secret. Then the Love of Her Life, makes an unexpected appearance - just when she thought she was starting to get over him. And the Keeper House itself is in peril.
